AEYC
in Alaska and the Nation
The Southeast
Alaska chapter
AEYC has been providing leadership in early childhood education
for over twenty years in Southeast Alaska. Our membership and Board
of Directors consist of parents, teachers, child care providers, school
age staff, social service professionals, and anyone who recognizes
the importance of the early years.
The membership
is actively engaged in developing and maintaining the quality of care
and education for young children. In addition to advocacy activities,
regional conferences, and events, the Southeast affiliate has successfully
applied for and administered a number of grants, including the Child
Care Food Program, Resource and Referral service, merit awards, and
many projects designed to provide support and resources to families
and programs caring for young children.
The Alaska
Association for the Education of Young Children
When you join the Southeast chapter, you automatically become a member
of the state affiliate, connecting advocates from Thorne Bay to Barrow.
The State affiliate provides a unified voice for children on a number
of issues. Efforts of AK AEYC have been recognized in the Governor's
State of the State address and have been successful in promoting a
greater awareness of the rights and needs of young children in Alaska.
The National
Organization
When you join the Southeast chapter, you join over 100,000 members
across the nation who share your interest and concern for young children.
You can take pride in being part of the growing momentum in our country
to support families and professionals in their important work.
