Child Nutrition Services with the State of Alaska

WELCOME to the AEYC
Child Care Food Program (CCFP)!

Good food helps you grow! The Child Care Food Program is a federal program of the Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The program reimburses licensed and approved child care providers for a portion of their child care food costs. The primary goal is to improve the diet of children ages 12 years and younger.

Food is an important part of every child's emotional, physical, and social development. Food habits established during preschool years may affect food behavior throughout life. Nutrition is an important part of a good child care program. Children need well-balanced meals in order to meet their daily energy needs and to help build strong bodies and minds.

Feeding children in family child care homes is a big responsibility and expense.  The CCFP helps children develop healthy and positive eating habits.

  • Reimbursement for meals and snacks served.
  • Nutrition training and support.
  • On-site nutrition activities with children.

In Juneau and throughout Southeast Alaska, AEYC administers the Child Care Food Program. For more information or to sign up for the program, contact the food program manager. 789-1767 or toll free 1-888-785-1235 or by email.
